Pair of non-breeding Bobolinks perched in green plants (Sandra Calderbank)Bobolink in flight against green background (Sandra Calderbank, sandra calderbank)The Bobolink is a fascinating bird traveling every year from their winter home in Paraguay and Boliva to the Northern United States to breed in summer. I found these non breeding Bobolinks in Delaware in preparation for their long 6-7000 mile trip! Just for contrast, I’ve included (below) a male Bobolink in breeding colors that I photographed in a sod field several years ago.
