This little beauty is the male blue grosbeak, of course as with most birds the male is very colorful and showy and the female is a warm brown. These lovely birds don”t live in the Blue Ridge Mountains where I live. I spotted this one in Bombay Hook National Wildlife Refuge  recently. This bright blue bird looks like an Indigo Bunting with epaulets.
