I watched these Juvenile Bald Eagles put on quite a show last month at Bombay Hook National Wildlife Refuge. It is mind boggling that the adults can fly at an altitude of 10,000 feet! I have difficulty determining their age until the head and tails start to turn white at which point they are about five years old and reaching sexual maturity. Even though these majestic birds of prey were removed from the Federal list of endangered and threatened wildlife in 2007 and have made a successful comeback, it is still thrilling to observe and photograph these large birds.
