Three Limpkin chicks in grass

Limpkin Chicks

These three downy Limpkin Chick were wandering in the grass in the Viera Wetlands. Limpkin Chicks can walk, run and swim immediately after hatching. The chicks depend on the parents for food, and they regularly feed them Apple Snails after the adult has removed the snail from the shell. Even though these three chicks are walking in the grass alone, I’m positive the adult Limpkins are nearby.
