I photographed two Belted Kingfishers fishing at Bombay Hook National Wildlife Refuge in Delaware. They are very entertaining to watch and listen to their rattling calls. As this female landed on a dead branch, I thought I heard her say “I Caught a fish this long”

The Bluebird is a very common sight but their brilliant blue color still startles me, especially when one sits still in the evening sun long enough for me to capture it’s image.
I have been searching for the Illusive Wood Duck to photograph for several years! Despite their nickname as “Carolina” Duck, they seem to be scarce here in the Blue Ridge Mountains. Maybe I just don’t know where to look? I was recently in Bombay Hook National Wildlife Refuge and suddenly here was Mrs Wood Duck! No sign of her well dressed male partner but she is just fine!.
An Adult Tree Swallow came frequently to feed insects to this nestling. This time the bug got away!
